Vultures are now in danger of extinction in India. There is a rapid population collapse from 8 crores in 1980s to 4 crores in 1990s to 19,000 in 2019. On the 1990s a sharp decline in the population of vultures was noted by Vishnu Prakash of the Bombay Natural History Society. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar also expressed his concern in Parliament on Friday.
