UN Psychology DAY 2020.
Sometimes, there are some kinds of subjects which contribute to society to a great extent. Psychology is an exceptional subject which bought a revolution in the human life. Being just part of a subject philosophy, psychology got its own identity back after the World War2.
Various philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and others gave various definitions of psychology. To study the human behavior was the dynamic concept in the history of mankind.
Behavior is a reaction to the outside environment of the individual. This process is very systematic and unique in nature. Back in 16th-19th century this subject went through various conspiracies and criticism. People considered it as insanity if someone had mental issues.
But, by the starting of 20th century, psychology became a subject of exploration. Educational institutions included this subject and after this it became a profession. Psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, social workers and people working in Ngo’s are such examples.
On 27thMay’2020, UN PSYCHOLOGY DAY is celebrated as a token of thanks to this this wonderful profession and subject. It was the 11th Annual psychology day.
BACKGROUND:
Psychology Day at the United Nations is the first time psychologists, U.N. ambassadors, staff, and other NGO representatives will come together to start a dialog on what psychology has to offer to the United Nations. The objective is to show how relevant psychology is as a discipline to addressing issues of global concern.
Similarly, on 10th October WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY is celebrated to create awareness regarding the importance of mental health and remove the taboo to consult a mental health professional for health.
To conclude, I would like pay a huge to respect to all the mental health professionals globally who are working hard to help the society and the individual in need. A very Happy Psychology Day to every Mental Health Professional.
