DRDA SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTER OPENED AT DAC.
ADC APPEALS TO AVAIL MAXIMUM BENEFIT

Ludhiana, July 27 : Under the steps being taken by Punjab Govt. to provide skill education and training to youth, the District Administration has opened new DRDA Skill Development Centre in District Administrative Complex. Training related to the hosiery industry would be imparted in this centre. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Dev.) Mr Sanyam Aggarwal inaugurated this centre.
While giving details, Mr Aggarwal said that boys and girls between the age of 18-40 and having 5th standard pass can get admission in this four-month (300 hours) course. He further informed that there are 60 seats available for the course. Training will be imparted on high-tech machines which were brought by keeping in the view of modernization of the Industry.
Mr Aggarwal said that admission for the course has been started and classes were being taken in two batches. The same course has also been started in R-seti building at Hambran road, where the candidates can also take admission. A student will be provided practical training in the industry in the last month of the course.
He said that this course is free of cost for SC students and the students belonging to BPL families of backward classes and general categories will have to pay fee Rs 200 per month. Likewise, the fee for backward classes and general categories will be Rs 400 and 500 respectively. After completing course trainees will be given certificates and can get handsome salaries in hosiery industries.
