FESTIVITY ANDVIBRANCY AT GNIPS 'TEEJ' MELA.

Ludhiana , August 3 : Festivity and vibrancy was witnessed at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town as ‘Teej Mela’was organized by the Pre-Primary Wing today to celebrate the festival of Teej. The whole wing was beautifully decorated and wore a festive look. The students and staff members looked vibrant in their traditional Punjabi outfits. The little girls & boys presented the perfect picture of Mutiars and Gabrus of Punjab. A small cultural programme that was presented by the students spoke volumes about their enthusiasm. Swings, Stalls of eatables, games and mehandi were put up for the students and staff. Everyone relished kheer and malpuras. Traditional articles like bagh, phulkari, charkha, pakhi, chajj etc. were also put on display. Avneet Kaur was chosen as Miss Teej.
Overall the day was full of moments of remembrance and enjoyment.
Principal Mrs. Gurmant Kaur Gill enlightened the students about the significance of the festival. She spoke about the socio economic importance of Teej and stressed on the need to remain in touch with the rich culture of Punjab and preserve it. Headmistress Mrs.Navjeet Kaur Pahuja, Co-ordinator Mrs.Abhineet Kaur Sarna and other senior staff members joined the children in the celebration.
