RAJNISH LOOMBA

India was declared an independent nation on 15 August 1947. As of 2019 there are now 73 years of independence India has completed.

However, India is not the only country that celebrates 15 August as Independence day.

In the late 1800s, following successive treaties with the British, Bahrain became a protectorate of the United Kingdom. The Kingdom Of Bahrain declared its independence from the British on August 15, 1971.

The only common public holiday celebrated by North Korea and South Korea, the day called National Liberation Day Of Korea refers to August 15, 1945. The day is called Time Of Restoration Of Light, when the USA and USSR forces ended the Japanese occupation of Korean peninsula.
