Photographers and people interested in photography from far and wide wait with rejoice for 19 of August to arrive. Reason being, World Photography Day is observed worldwide on 19 August every year. It is celebrated to promote photography as a hobby. 

World Photography Day inspires photographers to disseminate their ideas through lens, thus motivating the rest of world to brush up their skills in this field and to capture their ideas through lens. Photographers from various countries come on a similar platform to organize photo exhibitions, competitions, seminars etc. 

World Photography Day 2010 was historic because the very first global online gallery was hosted. The Indian International Photographic Council reaches out to various photographic luminaries to celebrate the day.
