ADVICE TO STUDENTS PREPARING FOR EXAMS.

ADVICE TO STUDENTS:  Examination is the most unpleasant word known to students worldwide. Examination is considered to be a test of student's knowledge, but students take it more horrible than a nuclear or atom bomb. Fear always prevails in students during the days of examinations. Not only students , their parents become terror - haunted during the examination days. It's called Examinophobia , in simple words it is known as Exam Fever. It comes to students when examinations are at their door step.

Seriously speaking, it is very disastrous  in terms of psychological and mental growth of children .

Illustrious people like Einstein and Churchill suffered from Exam Fever. They confessed it.

The prime cause of Exam Fever is tremendous pressure on students for the performance in examinations. Upto a limit it is justified as the pressure can convert into motivation to perform well. But over stress is harmful and can adversely affect the performance as well health of a student.

Lack of preparation for examinations, competition from peers are also the causes of so called Exam Fever.

Tell me dear students ; why to suffer from this Exam Fever or why to let this Exam Fever to take over your mind and body.

Never, never and never get afraid of examinations. I don't say you should become negligent or careless towards your performance in examinations. But take it in a cool way. I would like to tell a few ways to overcome this stress.

Before Exams :

1. Try answering questions from past exam papers. It will prove helpful to  you for the preparation.

2. Go to bed at a reasonable hour and get enough sleep to calm down your mind.

3. Always ask for help if there are things you don't understand and are feeling stressful.

4. Listen to soothing music that makes you feel good.

5. Get rid of self doubt with positive affirmations.

6. Use exercise to drain out nervousness.

7. Make a realistic revision. Revise very nicely.

During Exams :

1. Students who panic in examinations should take deep breath.

2. If a question causes you to freeze, immediately move on to an easier question. Come back to the difficult question later.

3. Try to stay cool in examinations.

After Exam :

1. Avoid the post- mortem of exam.

2. You don't need to know how other people performed in the exam.

3. Keep in mind that scoring low marks or failing an exam is not the end of the life.

I still remember, my father used to say :

Yes, there is life after revisions and exams.
