Ludhiana, February 10 :  Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, a renowned Punjabi poet and the ex-President of Punjabi Sahit Academy said that Poetry is very important in these modren times and a good poem forms the foundation of a healthy society and urges the people to stand for humanity and raise there voice against all atrocities.

Prof. Gurbhajan Gill expressed these views  while releasing Sehajpreet Singh Mangat's collection of poems "Sehajmatian" at Ishmeet music institute.

This is the third poetry book by Sehajpreet, who is an engineer at PWD by profession and also vice president of Punjabi Sahit Academy for the fourth consiquent term. The book comprises of poems, ghazals and songs on different subjects and aspects of life. Sehajpreet has expressed his views about the things happening in today's society. He feels the pain of the farmers committing sucides due to debts, the pain of a women who feel insecure and powerless and at the same time he express his anguish over the deeds of the foolish people fighting on the name of religion. Sehaj seems worried about the plight of the youth are being sucked into the labyrinth of drugs.

Prof Gurbhajan Gill stated that Sehajpreet is a sensitive poet who feels the pain of the people like his own. He said that this kind of poetry is the need of the hour and he not only writes about the problems faced by the masses but also points on the solutions. Sehajpreet taking out time from his busy schedule and writing about the sufferings of the people was appreciated by him.

The occasion was also graced by the presence of MLA Gill constituency S. Kuldeep Singh Vaid who couched that Sehajpreet is a poet of the people who fearlesly voices the views of the common. His boldness is the source driving his poetry and he himself is calm in the storm.

Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, former director World Punjabi Center stated that Sehajpreet expresses himself excellently and has been praised for his poems at the World Punjabi Confrences in different countries around the world especially in Pakistan.

Former Vice Chancellor Punjab Agricultural University Dr. Kirpal Singh Aulakh also praised Sehajpreet's poetry and acknowledged his efforts.

While sharing his experiences of life Sehajpreet disclosed that he feels that there's a poet in everyone that is waiting to be born. He feels that there's poetry in the blessings of a mother, the hardwork of an old rikshaw puller, the ones that have no clothes to wear in this cold weather. He feels that we encounter poetry at every step of our life.
