HOW TO DEAL WITH THE ANXIETY IN THE TIME OF CORONA VIRUS .
First things first - COVID-19 or the disease caused by coronavirus is scary and is now declared a Pandemic by WHO.
We know that it is spreading rapidly and currently there is no definitive vaccination for it. Under such circumstances, we are witnessing panic all around us. And times like these can be even more difficult for people with underlying anxiety disorders, OCD, and even PTSD.
With the possibility of more frequent panic attacks, hysteria, and spiralling triggers in many patients, it is important to take care of your and loved ones’ mental health as much as it is important to wash your hands.
- Filter the news you are consuming – Facts over sensationalism.
- Stick to your routine as much as possible.
- Avoid crowded spaces but do not isolate yourself.
- Limit your intake of alcohol and caffeine.
- Eat healthy and eat at home.
- Practice meditation, yoga or physical exercises.
- If nothing helps, seek help. – Join online forums on mental health, talk to people, and communicate how you are feeling. It will help you in realising that you are not alone.
