GADVSU NSS volunteers achieve clean campus target.

NSS team of the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University
(GADVASU), Ludhiana achieved the target of clean campus in the university. The
Cleanliness drive was formally inaugurated by Madhu Bala, Regional Director NSS from
Directorate of youth services, Punjab. All the volunteers enthusiastically participated in the
event and cleaned the campus. The cleanliness drive was started from College of Fisheries to
the Welfare Office, GADVASU. The garbage was also picked up from the dairy farm
complex. Addressing the gathering Madhu Bala said that the Clean campus is the need of the
hour. She said that if we fail to preserve the cleanliness and green cover around us, our next
generations were bound to suffer owing to the ill effects of climate change.
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students' Welfare cum Estate Officer informed
that due to untiring efforts of the concerned team the cleanliness drive has been successful.
NSS program coordinator Nidhi Sharma shared the concept note behind the cleanliness drive.
She exhorted the audience not only to clean but ensure the maintenance of clean campus
around us. NSS Programme Officer, Dr. C S Mukhopadhyay from College of Animal
Biotechnology, who coordinated the drive commended the efforts of NSS volunteers for
achieving the target much before the deadline. Dr. Sivakumar said that the target could be
achieved because of the persistent contribution of NSS volunteers who helped the staff by
carrying out a special cleanliness drive in the campus.
