Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town celebrates Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab
Ludhiana (Vasu Jaitly) - Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town marked the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab with great reverence & enthusiasm. The celebration aimed to spread Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless teachings of equality, compassion, humility & selfless service among students & staff. The programme started with recital of 70 Paths of ‘Japji Sahib’ by 70 students followed by Shabad Kirtan under the patronage of Holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Around 210 students of the school attired in white sang the holy hymns describing his glory & spoke about his life. They also spoke on the significance of Gurpurab & teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, through 60 poems, 15 speeches, 22 sakhis, lectures & discussion portraying the life history of Guru Ji. The sangat made a beeline to pay obeisance to the great Guru.
Serenity floated in the air with the humming of the holy hymns & it paved the way for a very fruitful & productive day. A soul soothing Shabad Kirtan was presented by students. The highlights of the programme were Harsimrat Kaur of Class VIII narrated a sakhi ‘Karam Kanda Da Marag Parmatma Vall Nahi Janda’ followed by Bhavtaran Kaur of class IV who recited a poem ‘Parupkari Nanak’ and Kulmeet Kaur of IX delivered a speech on ‘Guru Nanak Sahib Da Falsafa Ate Ajoke Samay vich isdi Mahatata.’
The spiritual ambience of the devotional shabads rented a religious fervor in the air & the whole gathering was in a meditative mood when the school choir sang a shabad ‘Kaahe Re Mann Khojan Jai.’
S.Paramjit Singh Sarna, President Guru Nanak Education Trust & President Shromani Akali Dal, Delhi Unit, other Management Members, Principal Mrs.Gurmant Kaur Gill, Staff, Students & Parents joined hands in celebrating the Prakash Utsav. Speaking on the occasion, S.Paramjit Singh Sarna, President Guru Nanak Education Trust & President Shromani Akali Dal Delhi Unit threw light on the life & teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji & emphasized to tread on the path shown by Guru Sahib Ji. Lastly, Langar was served to the sangat by staff & students. Such celebrations in school teach the students to respect all religions & make them feel the unity in diversity.
