World Bipolar Day .

On occasion of world bipolar day giving awareness to Patients about what is bipolar disoder, wat are the causes of bipolar disorder, treatment part ,awareness to about 80 patients  and attendents and hospital staff at Bhagwan ram charitable hospital daresi ludhiana .

World Bipolar Day

World Bipolar Day (WBD) will be celebrated each year on March 30th, the birthday of Vincent Van Gogh, who was posthumously diagnosed as probably having bipolar disorder.  The vision of WBD is to bring world awareness to bipolar disorders and eliminate social stigma. Through international collaboration the goal of World Bipolar Day is to bring the world population information about bipolar disorders that will educate and improve sensitivity towards the illness.

patients with both mania and depression are said to have bipolar disorder.

signs of mania include- elevated mood ,overtalktivesness,increased energy,increased self esteem,decreased need for sleep ,flight of ideas.it last for about 1 week and common duration is 2 weeks to 5 months.

Depression symptoms include low mood,crying spells,low energy,guilt feeling,emptiness,suicidal ideation,suicidal attempt,negative thoughts hopelessness,worthlessness, loss of interest in surrounding.

In some patients we see cyclothymia-periods of hypomania,and period of depression lasting for about 2 years.
