Ludhiana , June 10 : SDP College for Women, Ludhiana paid a rich tribute by garlanding the statue of the great 

Freedom Fighter late Sh. Om Parkash Gupta, a seasoned politician (elected M.L.A thrice 

from Ludhiana East Constituency in 1977, 1980 & 1985). Late Sh. Gupta was an altruistic 

person. His selfless service is well recognised in the history of SDP Institutions. He devoted 

his entire life to the dissemination of education and reformation of depressed sections of 

society.

On this occasion Sh. Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President SDP Sabha & College Managing 

Committee , Sh. Lekh Raj Arora , Vice – President, Sh. H.K. Chugh, General Secretary, Sh. 

Om Parkash Angrish, Sh. Mangal Sein Grover , Sh. Vijay Inder Gupta, Sh. Dhari Shah 

Singla, Sh. Hira Nand, Sh. Parveen Sharma, Sh. Arun Chadda, Sh. Deepak Kapoor, and Sh. 

Rajinder Soi paid rich tribute to Late Sh. Om Parkash Gupta in the College campus besides 

his family members – Mr. Sumit Gupta, Mr. Vicky Gupta, Ms. Usha Kiran Bhasin, Mr. 

Naresh Chandla, Ms. Sunita Gupta, Ms. Shilpa Gupta, Ms. Chetna Gupta, Ms. Shamma 

Gupta, Vivan Gupta and Charvi Gupta.

Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal, Mr. S.M. Sharma, Director, Mr. Mahendru, 

Director, HOI Sh. Jasvir Chauhan, Dr. Sanjeev Bindra and Smt. Indu Khurana were also 

present on the occasion. All members recalled Late Sh O.P. Gupta’s endless services to 

education and also vowed to follow his footsteps.
